Carter Makes Sky Debut
The Chicago Sky have signed guard Chennedy Carter to a training camp contract, the team announced today. Carter, a 5-9 guard, is in her first season with the Sky after being selected with the fourth overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft.
Carter, a product of the University of Texas A&M, was a three-time All-American and two-time SEC Player of the Year. She averaged 21.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game in her collegiate career.
The Sky are coming off a successful 2023 season in which they finished with a 20-14 record and reached the semifinals of the WNBA playoffs. The team is looking to build on that success in 2024 with the addition of Carter.
"Chennedy is a dynamic playmaker who can score in a variety of ways," said Sky head coach James Wade. "She is also a tough defender and competitor. We are excited to add her to our team."
Carter is expected to make her Sky debut on Friday, February 10th, when the team takes on the Washington Mystics in their preseason opener.
